Gertrudis is one of the most remarkable llamas we have ever seen.  We found her on the altiplano in Chile, near the border with Argentina.  She was a full head taller than any of the other llamas in her herd.  In fact, Gertie is 47" at the withers and the tips of her ears brush 7'.  She is not just tall, she is massive.  She moves like a horse, yet she is correct and soundby llama standards, and beautiful besides.         

All the llamas look up to Gertie.

 
Her front feet are almost 5" in diameter if you include all the wool on them.
